This summer, HIA students Rita Lin, Annabelle Hsu, Joshua Chen, Charlie Hsu, and Hana Khoo, along with their mentors Ms. Chiu and Mr. Liu, participated in HIA's first Teaching English in Remote Area Program (TERA Program).
HIA TERA team ventured out of the city to bring knowledge and joy to children in remote areas. HIA students taught various classes in English, including science classes, art classes, physical education and cooking classes. They not only imparted knowledge but also spent a joyful summer with the children.
This experience allowed the HIA TERA team to discover the different learning needs and backgrounds of students in remote area. They also adjusted their teaching methods to better meet their needs. Most importantly, the students gained valuable experience and spent a fulfilling and enjoyable summer with the children.
