This summer, HIA students Amber Huang, Justin Lee, Richard Chang, Marina Chiang, and Kacie Yang, led by Mr. Chen and Ms. Chiu, participated in HIA’s Teaching English in Remote Area Program (TERA Program).

The HIA TERA team ventured out of the city to bring knowledge, creativity, and joy to children in remote areas. 🌍 Throughout the week, students taught a variety of English-based classes — from science experiments like Make Your Own Quicksand 🧪 and Vinegar Volcanoes 🌋, to art activities such as Draw & Color 🎨 and Decorate the Cake 🍰, to physical education with Volleyball 🏐 and Dodgeball 🏐, and even cooking sessions like Pizza Toast 🍕

Beyond teaching, our students built meaningful connections with the children, shared laughter, and created unforgettable memories. This experience allowed the team to understand the diverse learning needs and backgrounds of students in remote areas, adapt their teaching methods, and grow as both educators and individuals. Most importantly, they enjoyed a fulfilling and heartwarming summer together. 🌞

HIA TERA 團隊走出都市，為偏鄉的孩子們帶來了知識、創意與歡樂。🌍 在這一週的課程中，學生們用英語教授了多元課程——從自然科學實驗如製作流沙 🧪、醋火山 🌋，到藝術活動如繪畫與上色 🎨、蛋糕裝飾 🍰，再到體育課如排球 🏐、躲避球 🏐，甚至還有料理課比薩吐司 🍕

學生們不僅傳授知識，更與孩子們建立了深厚的情誼，分享了無數笑聲與美好時光。這次經驗讓團隊更了解偏鄉學生不同的學習需求與背景，並能調整教學方式以更貼近孩子們的需要。更重要的是，他們收穫了寶貴的經驗，度過了一個充實又溫暖的暑假。🌞
