Preferred Professional Qualifications

 

The following qualifications describe our preferred candidate profile. Candidates with different professional backgrounds may also be considered based on relevant strengths, potential contribution, and school needs.

Our preferred qualifications include:

​

• A bachelor’s degree or higher in Education, the intended teaching subject, or a related field

• A current professional teaching license, teaching certificate, or Qualified Teacher Status issued by an authorized government or professional licensing body

• Completion of a recognized teacher-preparation pathway that included supervised classroom practice

• Appropriate teaching authorization or sufficient academic preparation for the subject and age range

• At least two years of successful, full-time experience as the independently responsible classroom teacher in a recognized K–12 school

• Verifiable professional references from school administrators or supervisors

• Demonstrated ability to support students learning in English as an additional language

Preferred Professional Experience:

Preference may be given to candidates who demonstrate experience with:

• Standards aligned curriculum design

• Universal Design for Learning

• Project-based and inquiry-based learning

• Social-emotional learning

• Supporting multilingual learners

• Authentic assessment and timely feedback

• International or multicultural school communities

• Advisory, homeroom or Life Education programs

• Extracurricular activities, athletics or student leadership
