No, Taiwanese students do not need a second passport to attend HIA.
HIA is a gateway to universities and colleges around the world, including the United States, Canada, Australia, U.K., Singapore, Hong Kong, Japan, etc. Graduates from HIA are will receive a Diploma issued by HIA and a Certificate of Completion of Experimental Education at the Senior High School Level (the equivalent to High School Diploma) issued by the Hsinchu County Government and therefore are also eligible to apply to universities in Taiwan.
A typical school day starts at 8:00am and ends at 5:00pm. Students are not allowed to leave school campus without school permission.
In order to align our school calendar to other international schools, our school year starts in mid-August and ends in mid-June.
Yes, HIA organizes full-day camps with the summer and winter breaks, in addition to volunteering and internship opportunities.
Yes, HIA offers transportation services within Zhubei City, Hsinchu City, broader Hsinchu County and Tofen/Zhunan Area.
At HIA, students are on the move! Students need to switch to subject-area classrooms in-between classes. Students keep their personal belongings in their own lockers.
Qualified students can join HIA at any grade level upon availabilities. Students are encouraged to join as early as possible to allow ample time to build a strong foundation.
Students are being evaluated based on the following categories: participation, classwork/homework, essays/quizzes/tests and final exam/projects.
Yes, all students are required to wear HIA uniforms and to follow the HIA Dress Code.
HIA is proud to implement BYOD 1:1 digital device program, which is a model in which every student uses a digital device to assist with their learning, discovery, and research. The digital devices used at HIA are the MacBook series by Apple. HIA will assist incoming students to purchase their MacBook as Mobile Device Manager (MDM) needs to be installed before they can be used at HIA.
