About HIA

Mr. Christian Choquette
HIA Founding Principal,
Head of School
Greetings!
.
Welcome to Hsinchu International Academy (HIA)! It is with great pride and excitement that I write this letter of introduction. I am honored to serve as the Founding Principal and now Head of School of HIA. Working alongside our founding team to bring this school from concept to reality has been one of the highlights of my career, and it is deeply rewarding to see our community continue to grow and flourish. The HIA staff and I are eager to continue this journey with you and your family.
My leadership experience has taught me that listening is the foundation of strong, trusting, and collaborative relationships within a school community. At HIA, I look forward to working closely with students, parents, and staff to build a culture grounded in partnership and mutual respect. I believe that culture and community are the cornerstones that elevate a school from good to great. As a hands-on and student-centered leader, I value accountability, data-informed reflection, shared leadership, and the continual professional growth of our team.
Equally important, I believe that true education develops the whole child. Academic achievement must be complemented by social-emotional growth, character development, and the cultivation of practical life skills. Through our Life Education and Advisory programs, students are guided to discover their strengths, connect with others, and contribute meaningfully to their community.
At the heart of HIA is our shared belief that learning should inspire curiosity, compassion, and purpose. These ideals come to life through our Lion PRIDE values, which guide the way we learn, grow, and lead together.

I understand the impact that a strong and positive culture has on a school community—particularly on the success and growth of our scholars. In keeping with this, my personal leadership mission echoes HIA’s Mission: “To nurture an atmosphere that fosters academic excellence, inspiring our learners to be confident, creative, compassionate, scientific thinkers who develop a joy for collaborative lifelong learning, guiding them to reach their full potential and to be successful anywhere in the world.”
I hold high expectations—for myself, our faculty and staff, our students, and our families. Together, we are the community that drives the success of our students and the continued growth of HIA.
As I reflect on how far we have come, I am deeply proud of the remarkable community we have built here at HIA. Our WASC accreditation affirms the quality and integrity of our program, and every day I am inspired by the high levels of care and professionalism shown by our dedicated teachers. I see the lasting impact of our Life Education curriculum, which helps our students grow into confident, happy learners, and I am continually impressed by their academic progress and achievement across AP, SAT, and IELTS examinations.
We look forward with excitement to celebrating our first graduating class in June 2026, and to hearing the stories of our students’ continued success as they venture out into the world.
In closing, I take great pride in investing my time and effort into ensuring that every member of our community—staff, teachers, students, and families—feels supported, valued, and included.
I welcome prospective HIA families to reach out for more information or with any questions at info@hia.com.tw.
Sincerely,

Mr. Christian Choquette, Head of School
