🇫🇷 HIA Wins Gold Medal at iGEM Paris!🥇

HIA’s debut iGEM team made history at the 2025 iGEM Grand Jamboree in Paris, earning a Gold Medal at the world’s most prestigious synthetic biology competition!

Under the project title “Project PlasMission,” 17 HIA students tackled one of today’s most pressing global health challenges — antimicrobial resistance (AMR). From establishing their own laboratory and studying scientific literature to conducting countless experiments and improvements, they truly embodied the spirit of scientific exploration.

Through their Human Practices initiatives, the team extended science beyond the lab — engaging communities and connecting research with real-world impact. Their perseverance, collaboration, and passion across months of hard work culminated in this remarkable achievement.

Special thanks to Mr. Teoh, Ms. Pung, and Ms. Chiu for their mentorship, and to all faculty and parents for their tremendous support.

HIA初創iGEM團隊首次遠赴巴黎，參加全球最具影響力的合成生物學盛會——iGEM Grand Jamboree，以卓越的研究成果勇奪金牌殊榮，寫下學校歷史性的新篇章！

本屆以「PlasMission」為名的十七位學生團隊，聚焦全球醫學與生物科技的重要議題——抗生素抗藥性（AMR）。從零開始建立實驗室、研讀學術文獻，到反覆實驗與不斷改進，他們以行動實踐科研精神。

透過 Human Practices 的延伸行動，學生們更將科學帶進社區與教育現場，讓研究成果真正走入生活。歷經無數假期與課後的努力，他們展現出非凡的毅力、團隊合作與熱情，最終榮獲金牌肯定！
